Frequently asked questions
Why do U-30, U-50, and U-100 syringes give the same reading?
All standard insulin syringes are marked on the same scale, where 100 units always equals 1 mL. A "U-30" syringe just has a shorter, thinner barrel that maxes out at 30 units (0.3 mL) for finer precision on small doses - it doesn't change what a unit means.
What if my dose comes out to less than 1 unit?
That means your solution is too dilute to measure that dose accurately on your syringe. Reconstitute with less bacteriostatic water to raise the concentration, or switch to a syringe with finer graduations (e.g. a U-30 instead of a U-100).
What if the units needed are more than my syringe holds?
Your solution is too concentrated for that syringe and dose. Either add more bacteriostatic water to dilute it, or switch to a larger-capacity syringe (e.g. a 1 mL or 3 mL syringe).
How long does reconstituted peptide stay stable?
Most peptides reconstituted with bacteriostatic water remain stable for roughly 2 to 4 weeks when stored refrigerated at 2 to 8 C (36 to 46 F), away from light and agitation. Always check the specific peptide's documentation, as stability varies.
Is this the same as medical dosing advice?
No. This tool only performs the arithmetic of concentration and volume - it does not recommend a dose. Dosing decisions should always follow your healthcare provider's guidance or an established research protocol.
